Google rolls out Memory and Energy Saver modes in latest Chrome update

Google is rolling out Memory and Energy Saver modes in its Chrome 110 update for Windows, Mac, and Chromebook PCs, Engadget reports.

The browser is notorious for hogging memory and battery on users' devices, but the new modes — which Google first announced in December 2022 — will help users free up RAM and reduce strain on their battery life.

Is this different or related to the "this background tab has been hybernated to save memory" or whatever that I've been getting for a few weeks now?

I resorted to using workona to manage all my tabs.

I'm just waiting for that new NVIDIA RTX Video Super Resolution to be enabled in Chrome, think we just need the 530 series driver next month.

Going to breath new life into sub 4K streaming videos, will be cool to see what the relics in 360p look like after they are upscaled with Tensor cores.
