Interesting :D

Our IS adsl account from openweb has been resolving local google servers for more than a month already but my webafrica account still resolves international servers :(

This 196 is the Internet Solutions' backbone. I cannot understand how they can say it's local when it isn't. It's IS' cache. It will only go to Google.com when it cannot find something, so it's not proper LOCAL as we anticipate a .CO.ZA to be, it's a shadow server controlled by Internet Solutions.

Pull the other three legs!

I saw a Google server in the IS vault when we went there last week. :)

And a trace route. (Ignore the ping times...I've got downloads running that I can't stop)

This is a ping from my server sitting in the old Verizon data center (now MTN)

Without being stupid, pasting links to the two sites does nothing to show how they resolve for you

I know that... I put them there so that any other posters coming after me don't have to type the addresses in.

I'm helpful like that :p

And this one is from inside the SANReN network.

I can confirm that SAIX's GGC servers are not automatically working for TelkomInternet customers, but i've forced my DNS server to resolve google hosts to use their GGC IP and it does work... obviously someone's just not doing their job at Telkom/SAIX?
