Google drive mounted in Windows/Linux

i seem to get spikes above 100mbps, but assume luck will also run out.

care to share details on OneDrive? e.g. does it have a similar storage per dollar option?

Well in terms of storage per dollar it's free so it definitely beats Google on that. 5TB per account and you have a license to create 25 accounts.

I've wondered how it all works. Do they store content globally in caches and your data will usually be local to you, or do they cache it close to you, but a complete drive it kept within their remote archive DCs, and its pulled from there any time its requested?
What if the content is requested somewhere else soon after upload?

I've uploaded all of my content locally to gsuite, and its normally pulled sometime later by a server in the EU doing my Plex goodies, so sometime it needs to get from whatever cache I've loadded it to locally to at least the EU, and I've never noticed bandwidth being an issue.

The amount of servers and storage Google needs o have is absultely insance.

If you upload something in ZA the same file is available at their CDN in Australia as soon as it's uploaded. Whether they have bulk storage and just use clever CDN to deliver it all over the world I'm not exactly sure but once the data is uploaded it's always there it doesn't get lost and it availave everywhere in the wrold.

Hey all

Am curious about using these Microsoft or Google Drives to host some media... Have an Oracle Ubuntu VPS which should be able to run Plex or Emby and pull from the Cloud Drives , and the client devices pull from the VPS. Also which of the Drives is best in terms of longevity.

This should work Just not sure how ? I'd be able to do this on Windows but not sure how to in Linux
