Google drive mounted in Windows/Linux

Is it just me or does Google seem to restrict downloads to 170mbps per item download.

In the browser yes.

You need to use something like rclone with rclone browser and use the --drive-chunk-size 128M flag to get 1Gbps download and upload

OK cool so I'm not losing my mind. I usually use JDownloader for stuff like that. Used to use with ZippyShare to speed things up with multiple chunks.

Yeah it's not just you. Google JHB is also not coping with the load because during evening peak because they are shifting traffic to Kenya still.

So something interesting, after increasing my google users to 5 and then requesting more storage I got 50TB. I then changed my users back down to 1 and I now have 30TB of organization storage...
so even with 5 users it's not unlimited anymore. I tested dropbox out with plex and rclone seems much faster playback starts in 1 second compared to GD around 5-10. but i am moving my stuff out of gd to local storage.
DB is just too expensive and whats to say in a year from now once everyone moves to them, they won't impose restrictions.

Afrihost is not going to be happy with me need to move over 300TB. this will take a while although i am getting my full line speed with the copy.

How much local storage do you have?

In reality, none of those services are practical for us normal users. Especially those who need access to movies, series, and many other type of files we need backed up and to access on a daily basis. Those cheapies do not allow you to mount the drives on your server. Others who do, only provide you with 2TB or 5TB data. They have massive limits in the TOS and AUPs.

No thanks. Been there, tested them all and none are working for me.
Use the right cloud for the job... https://alldebrid.com/ or https://real-debrid.com/

How much did that set you back?
Are going to use redundancy? Are you using Truenas?
How much power is that beast using?
it is a unity array an old unit took out of a customer. will just need to shop on ebay for hardware replacement.

power wise its pulling quite a bit. sunny days can easily run off solar. night time loads will be harsh on the pocket.

busy putting in this for a customer. will have a 3par with about 180TB but power consumption will be a problem.

Hey guys, what are you guys going to use as an alternative now?

I been looking and I can't find any cheap good options.

I'm considering just getting a cheap nas and running that.
