Google deploying planes above cities for 3D maps

Google Inc is deploying a fleet of small, camera-equipped airplanes above several cities, the Internet search company’s latest step in its ambitious and sometimes controversial plan to create a digital map of the world...

You know what would be a super use of their time. Telling us why any device running iOS5, cannot search adresses in most/many areas in South Africa, and when pins are dropped on a site, it often only gives the province and country, not street adress. Once that is working, then I am sure I would love 3d maps.

I guess this has nothing at all to do with Apple buying Saab's 3D mapping tech.
