The Galaxy Nexus is nothing that fantastic :-/. The software makes it desirable. That's it. The High Res screen does not seem that great, would have to use it first to be able to make a proper judgement on it. Other than the screen its WORSE than the Galaxy S2.
 
I've learned from my Honeycomb on Samsung GT10.1 experience to go for plain vanilla Android and do the nice interface stuff using third party apps instead. Samsung broke Android/Honeycomb on the SGT10.1 and now the user is stuck ... waiting for Sammy to provide an update with bug fixes at their leisure (which might never happen). The Nexus idea appeals to me now.
 
I've loving the ICS interface and the cool new features, but the Galaxy Note is still the phone for me (no doubt it will get the ICS update), I have to say I'm also in awe of the design of the Motorola Droid Razr too. Spec wise the Note beats them all though and I'm willing to make the fashion sacrifice for the big screen and the stylus.

Firstly, most reviews are raving about the screen. So if you're just sitting there thinking that it doesn't sound that great, you basically don't know what you're talking about. 316ppi on a 4.65" screen with the same Samoled+ technology as the GS2.... it's a dream. And the screen is 90% of the phone experience. The other specs are mostly the same, personally I could care less about the camera and I'm not going to use an external card anyway. And the CPU and ram are the same.

Sheesh, obviously you must be using an old VGA screen on your PC and have no idea what you're talking about. This screen is incredible!

I was hoping that Android 4 would remove some of the interface performance issues. Maybe in a point release then.

Which is why i said i will leave final judgement till i have used one. People RAVE about the iphone screen yet i don't feel its that fantastic. I was also not blown away with my Galaxy S screen.

For interest sake, can you maybe give a list of advantages of BB that you believe will be to the advantage of iPhone and Android?

Personally, I'm an Android fan since I hate being locked down and not being able to do what I want the way I want to.

Here is my list of (BB < Android) features ...
BBM - Prefer WhatsApp, GTalk and SMS since it is just so much easier to stay in contact with someone. The BBM pin seems a bit backward to get into contact with someone.
Email - Have the same and more (afaik) in iPhone and Android
Browsing - Have the same and more (afaik) in iPhone and Android
Unlimited bandwidth - to get the "unlimited bandwidth" you are governed by another entity about what you can download or not. Plus your services have central point of failure. And "unlimited" browsing for that price on large scale would kill any telecom network if the majority of there users started to use it on a large scale and the price would skyrocket. And although I have a smallish data bundle I have only once had an issue about my monthly usage and that was when I had to download a VERY large software package from the internet, something which I would in anycase not have been able to do on a BB.

But as I stated, I am a Android-man, with respect for iPhone and quite willing to learn.

So.... you aren't impressed by a 320ppi IPS iPhone screen, you aren't impressed by a 480x800 Samoled screen....exactly which screen has impressed you and what are you looking for then? There kind of isn't much better out there in phones.

My conclusion: Android 4.0 ICS is the star of the event.

ICS seems cleaner, simpler, less cluttered, more friendly.
Lots of new features.
The enhancements in the Camera App look amazing.
