Galaxy Nexus unveiled

Google and Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Nexus on 19 October. The Galaxy Nexus is the first phone designed for the latest release of Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich.

Looks very pretty. Wonder what it's list price will be here in SA.
 
1st impression, I am not a fan of the UI. Will probably grow on me, but for now I am not a fan.

As for the phone, if I look at the specs over here, I would personally pick the Motorola 1st and hope to get ICS from the hacking community.

Come on, 5 Mp camera and no SD card slot?

The only 2 things Nexus has is NFC and a bigger screen.
 
Android gaan als oorvat. Dit is open source en in my opinie die toekoms, dis Google dis groot en Apple sal ook moet probeer om dit te stop..Android is taking over the world...maar ek is maar nog baie lief vir my blackberry :erm:
 
Only reason why I would consider a blackberry over a Android smartphone is the BB Services. And that is the only reason.
Why don't all the other cellphone makers get a service like blackberry's?

Are the specs for the Nexus confirmed? some forums are saying that it might have a 8Mp camera and sd slot?

AFAIK they have been looking into this, was an article here on myBB a while back.

Rather just wait for the next HTC that runs ICS or your smartphone brand of choice if you dont like the Nexus
 
Do like the look of this phone.. but I'll wait for a bit before I jump in on ICS... cos THAT is the star of the show.
 
Also remember the Nexus line of phones is kind of the trend setter, or the next "standard" so to speak.

Its mostly aimed at developers to have a proper and clean test platform when developing/debugging software for the market.The OEM's will soon come out with phones that puts this thing to shame.
 
I am assuming this will have Touchwiz, i am really not a fan. Waiting for the next HTC that runs ICS. Interesting though as I thought Moto would release the first phone running ICS.

It will be stock Android.

As Nookie said, the Nexus devices are always stock Android. I would love to get a Nexus, unfortunately they only appear briefly in SA. They are always the first to get updates as well (coming directly from Google).
 
That was a really cool video, totally sold me, being an iOS + Blackberry user :).

I feel though that alot of features will require massive bandwidth (take Google+ hangout for example) to fully enjoy the experience :/.

Our damn SPs need to wakeup and give us cheaper per mb pricing :).

Hope pricing is revealed for us soon though.

That's my problem. I was SO looking froward to the Galaxy Nexus being launched but now i am just left with a feeling that i want to Motorola rather.

You what? the Razr is a nice looking phone but it isn't much better than the Galaxy S2 for specs, in fact it's practically the same aside from being slightly smaller.
