I deactivated my FB account last month. I had enough of 'friends' posting all sorts of carp on my wall. It's fine if it's friendly chat or banter, but it was getting too vulgar and potentially offending other family and friends reading through my account.
From what I have heard you can create 'circles' in which you can ring-fence certain users into your own groups. That sounds interesting.
I was concerned about FB's privacy and I do not need to be worrying about that. It just wasn't simple enough to maintain the levels of privacy I was interested in.
Google+ certainly looks interesting and will be giving it a whirl when it goes out of Beta.
I think he meant in terms of data...
You can post to more than one circle at the same time.have tried it & placed people in different groups.
If i post to group A then group B does not even see that i posted nevermind what other posted...
It's also possible to turn off the email notifications of every time someone posts..
Good point, but the software is free.I wasn't even aware that it SHOULDN'T cost anything...![]()
Actually, I use my wife's 9780 to BBM my folks, and have been pleasantly surprised with the app. It may be based on old technology (PIN, anyone?), but the little extras it has (delivered, read) combined with the phone itself make for a very good combination. Plus we're not even talking about groups, which is another conversation altogether.BBM is a load of carp anyway, so I wouldn't even want to compare it to that.
You can post to more than one circle at the same time.Just add the circles you want (or the contacts directly) when posting.
That's right, but if you don't want all to see what you posted & only a select group then that is just perfect. Or add groups if you wish for a general announcement.

Dunno if you've used it yourself. My opinion changed once I started using it.
