Google Home Mini

I actually logged a call with Google today. They recently did an ota firmware update on Google home devices. It seems like they somehow made the devices aware of where they are (skynet, in South Africa) and a lot of services stopped working because they require it to be in USA... (Tracked by IP). IN a separate issue, they are also already working on the routines issue... Which also started yesterday.
 
The issue of the accent change seems to be fixed. My routines never stopped working so that's still the same.

Did you establish whether Continued Conversation will work in SA at some stage?

No fight, it's abundantly clear from my side that I quoted atmosphere in my reply, but I'm on desktop and perhaps you're on mobile and cannot see that.

This used to work for me about 3 months ago on my Google home minis... But not anymore. I did some searching about a month ago... Seems like aot of people gave had this dissappear.... That's probably one of the main annoying things about Google. They tend to break things sometimes!
 
Continued Conversation was working for me but it stopped about a month ago.
 
Any updates on using the Home Mini. My mom is having eye surgery next week and will have to stay off her devices for 2 weeks and I wanted to get her one to play her music, podcasts etc and maybe read message/emails.

What kind of updates. It plays music it streams radio, not sure about messages.
 
Anyone know if you can turn a Mini into an always on intercom?
I want to stream audio from my home to my phone or pc whenever I leave the premises.

Yes you can. Use the broadcast feature to send a message to all or one of your speakers. I use it often to remind my girlfriend to take the meat out the freezer for example or call her via Google Duo and you can answer via one of the speakers.721494
 
I think that only works if you want to broadcast a message once. I want to permanently broadcast audio.

So this is what I want to do:
Have the mini close to my dogs and always listen for audio.
This audio will be picked up from the mini and sent to my phone or pc, wherever I am.
If I hear any barking then I know that something is up at home, while I am away.
I will then view the live feed on my CCTV.

Oh I see what you mean. You can't do that. I wouldn't be surprised if there are ways to do this but its definitely not a factory option. Try using IFTTT. Maybe there are some commands that can allow that.
 
I've established that Deezer is not supported on Google Home here. Anyone know if Spotify will work? If so, can I use the free version or will I need to sign up for Premium or whatever they call it?
