Google Inbox features tested in Gmail

Google's automated iteration of Gmail - Google Inbox - is shutting down, but some of its features will reportedly be tested in Gmail.

A screenshot by a Redditor suggests that Inbox features such as reminders, pins, and bundles will be tested in an updated version of Gmail.

Reminders, pins, and folders already been part of Gmail for like a year. Where's the news?

Since they still haven't made Gmail work nearly as well I might just pull the plug on Gmail as a whole come March.

There is no need for them to take down Inbox in it's current state. Just stop developing it further.

I used Inbox for a while. It became painful. Canned it and reverted to the origins of Gmail. Much happier since.

If you say so. What mode are you using for Gmail? Priority inbox seems to have a lot of the same functionality.

Oh it’s similar for sure. Just not quite the same if you got used to an Inbox workflow.

Maybe I should “reset” my Gmail account and start fresh.

Oh man, if the Inbox-like reminders come to Gmail, I'll be one happy guy. Tasks / Reminders in Keep are just not the same.

100% Agreed.
I dread having to live without Inbox. Gmail does not offer what Inbox does in terms of reminders and scheduling. No amount of fiddling with Gmail and Google Calendar / Keep can currently do what Inbox does.

I tried Inbox when it was launched. I didn't use it for very long before figuring out that it was crap and that the plain, old Gmail was far better. I'd actually clean forgotten that mess. Good riddance. It was about as useful and relevant as Google+.

it's going to be a sad day when they retire inbox

Snooze is now in Gmail too, which I use a lot

I was seriously hoping multi message forwarding would be a thing. Guess I have to keep using another email client until this happens.

one of the basic most frustrating things with the gmail client is that when you open a folder - say promotions. there's no delete all function from within there

The Inbox app on the phone rocks, this is sad news
