I tried the duck once. Didn't last a day. Hopelessly useless results compared to Google and even Bing when you're searching with longer phrases or want a technical solution to an issue.

Very strange since DDG uses mostly Bing results via the Bing api. To query Startpage (which uses Google) just add !s to your search. Best of all worlds.

I've had reasonably good success using DDG with technical stuff - searching for errors, syntax, man pages, these tend to go pretty well.

Where it fails hopelessly is local retailers. Searching for Mantech, Builders Warehouse or Game, no dice. Google gets it first time, but you have to wade through all the ads at the top to get to the actual link.
