Haha, the phone came way earlier than what I expected. The play store said a few weeks, but then it shipped the next day and so here I am![]()

What was the total cost in rands if I may ask(break down would be awesome too)
Thanks![]()
I'm in the USA at the moment, so the Rand cost was "zero"But it was basically $350 (16GB version) + shipping (13.99) + taxes (±$25)
Hmmm im a little confused. If you in the US then why did yoy have to pay taxes and shipping :/
Sorry for being noob if its a dumb question![]()

R5750, holy f#$@# that is expensive
Well, if you are considering that you can get a S3 for R6k locally, I would argue that R5,750 for a better phone is still good value.

At that price I would take the S3 because of local warranty alone.
Battery is a non-issue. Battery on Nexus 4 can be replaced. Expandable storage is a non-issue for me personally since I don't need much in the way of storage space.
What about latest Android? GSIII wishes it had that.
Without a local warranty at double the storage capacity + expansible storage + removable battery (after 600+ charges, will you chuck the N4 in the bin?). I would go for the S3 at R300 more. If you could buy a N4 @ R4k I would say go for the N4.
where to buy the battery.
eBay is where I buy cellphone batteries. I had a quick look out of curiosity, there was a Nexus 4 battery (for R600 or something). However the phone is pretty new so price is high, eventually it'll get cheaper. Nobody is replacing their Nexus 4 batteries now.
To be fair the N4 does have a chunk more RAM vs the S3 (non LTE model). But that is about all that is significantly better on the N4 IMO.
