Any news if you will be getting the Google Nexus 5 phone???

It would be a worthy companion for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

It's way overpriced in the UK.

Maybe it's the IRS getting back at Google for dodging tax in the UK?

I highly doubt it will get released officially in SA, LG SA is promoting the G2 instead.

It is. But it's very similar to the nexus, and the nexus is lower priced.

Weird, I had no issue buying from the US playstore with my SA FNB card.

the Nexus 5 won't run on Telkom Mobile LTE. Telkom uses the 2300MHz band and very few handsets support it.

Just ordered one from Amazon. +-R5.8k compared to +-R6.8k from the UK Play Store.

I ordered mine via Orange Online store. Came in just over 6k, with all import duties, shipping etc taken care of. Spent the morning ensuring customs clearance. Hoping for Friday - DHL says on track, assuming no snags at customs.
