I was really keen for this phone until I found out it doesn't have a micro sd slot, which is a huge turn off for me.
How long did it take you to find that out?? None of the Nexus devices apart from the first one have had card slots. It's one of the crappiest things about them.

I love my phone but one disadvantage that I find is people asking me what phone it is. Off course I tell them "Nexus 5" and then give a look of bewilderment. Them I have to explain that its a Google phone. Which adds to further confusion because people think only apple and Samsung makes phone. I end up saying it is an LG.
same here, most of the time... I see it as an advantage though.
You can tell they are asking themselves "How can a phone be this nice and it is neither Apple or Samsung?"

LoL ... I've had the same issue, but my retort is samsung makes krap plastic. Build quality of the Nexus 4 & 5 is way better than the samsung range.
Or, "Don't LG make rubbish phones?"
Hence the need to explain the Google connection.
Agreed. It is for this reason that I will never buy another Samsung smartphone if I can help it. The Nexus 4 was miles better built than the Note 2 I had before it, despite its fragility.
Laughs at Nexus 5 - Google - LG comments/explanations... Coz it's true![]()

so guys
what custom roms are u guys using? im still stock and unrooted
hows pa beta 4? is everything working( i know most of the pa features are not there)
hows cm11 official? any bugs ? does hdr+ work on cm11?
omnirom?
looking for stock rom with some extra features - like lockscreen shortcuts, customizable quick settings.. etc
Stock, rooted with Xposed framework installed, and I am more than happy. I am following the progress of PA 4+, but more with a passing interest than anything else.
Lockscreen shortcuts- you could use WidgetLocker for that? And the GravityBox module for Xposed allows you to customise the quick settings toggles- it's what I have done.
Currently, I see no need at all for a custom ROM. I'll still go the custom kernel route, though.
