Google Nexus 5

Just wont get any signal, wont connect to mobile network yet same sim works in other devices.

Tried that , tried near everything...it still scans and all just won't register on any network...

IMEI isn't blacklisted either iv called to confirm

Very obvious one, but sometimes missed - did you get the correct operator settings?

Yep, iv tried that too...gonna try again now as well but the only operator settings I can think to apply is the APN settings, its weird that the device scans still and picks up vodacom, cellc, and all those and it picks up that it has a cellc sim card in the device so im eliminating the problem of hardware I'd say!

Phone your network and ask them to send the settings.

Iv added the internet APN and MMS I can also "restore to defaults" and it recovers all of them again too with the settings. I cannot even call haha

Hi Guys,

Long story short is that my wife managed to crack the screen of her Nexus 5, any ideas where I can get a replacement?

Best place I could find was here - http://www.etradesupply.com/lg/android-models/lg-nexus-5.html

They don't have stock of the white one unfortunately...

Android 4.4.4 was released over the last 24 hours or so. A new radio, and bug fixes (apparently). My system apps are xposed, and Cerberus, and this was an easy update even with them.

Unistall xposed (I didn't bother rebooting at the prompt).
Reboot to recovery.
Flash the OTA (you can get that here http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t252321
Flash SuperSU
Reboot
Install xposed
Reboot

And all was back to normal - Cerberus survived this process.

i read only security fixes... lets hope there are some bug fixes as well

Stock kernel?

Just upgraded to 4.4.4.

Flashed with fastboot.

Phone didn't explode so that's good. :)

Hi Guys,

I would not blame your wife too quickly. The Nexus 5 is known to have screen cracking issues when the device is put face down on a table. I baby my Nexus 5 with screen covers and bumpers and I have been through 4 of them. I love the stock Android but unfortunately the screen has a problem. You will see hundreds of posts about this problem. It creates a hairline fracture on the phone (something to do with heat distribution on the screen), then from their it spreads until the screen becomes un-bearable. Funny thing is... I would still rather use the cracked Nexus 5 than a brand new iPhone or S5... I love the stock Android.

To answer your questions I get my Nexus 5 delivered to me in 3 days, great service from http://store.orange.com/za/mobile-phones/sim-free-phones/google-nexus-5-16gb-black-255489/ ... keep their details as you will probably need another one as soon as the screen goes.

Ordered a new one from orange too, ordered on Thursday 3pm it arrived in South Africa Saturday 11am so I'm very happy with service from them and the price including Dhl express is awesome.
