Google Nexus 5

Aaaarhh!!

Orange ZA no longer carry the 32GB, and I'm reluctant to go with 16GB.

Anyone know of local stock at a similar price?

I'm waiting for the new nexus. Should be here soon. I'm going to try order off the US play store (using a VPN to access it, like some have done before). Should be around the same price as before- maybe a bit more. But if you really want the N5, you can do as suggested (I think it's going for around $300).

Oh and use one of those package forwarding services, seems pretty efficient from what others have said

I'm thinking of ordering via Dubai if I can't find ZA stock.

The Nexus 6/X looks nice, but the 5 is a better fit for what I'm looking for :decent price, decent specs etc

Looks nice? It hasn't even been announced yet...

N5 is fantastic, though. Perhaps try Carbonite for a used one?

So far, yeah. And considering what they have based the Nexus hardware off of, I'm sure that the current standard will be maintained.

Which begs the question: get a 5 now, or wait 2 months (roughly) for a 6(which is highly speculative)?

The one problem with waiting for the Nexus 6 is related to high demand. It will probably be difficult for Orange and other importers to source stock shortly after it has been released. It may take until the end of the year before the Nexus 6 becomes available here.

Tough decision.

The other issue is that, whilst I'm sure it will be well priced, will that be relative to the Nexus 5, or relative to the prices of other manufacturers.

If a higher price means a less crap battery and camera then I'm perfectly okay with that.

Obviously nowhere close to that of a OnePlus One or Sony Z3. If the Nexus 6 doesn't have a 3000+mAh battery then it's dead to me. Battery life is important.

I was hoping someone with a Nexus 5 can answer. Even though the battery capacity is important, we know from experience that other factors such as software optimization also impact battery life.

By the way, what is the maximum screen on time you have managed with your OnePlus One? And over how long a period? Do you have screenshots?

I wonder if I'll beat my Galaxy S4 by a significant amount.

I've never pushed my OnePlus One's battery, so I have no idea. Probably a very, very long time, as the battery barely moves unless the screen is in use. I don't think I've ever had my battery level below 50% by late evening, even when using the phone a lot.

This is my current battery:

This is an old screenshot, the day after I got the phone:

As you can see, I'm not kidding when I say the battery doesn't move if the screen is off.
