Good day all.

I have a Huawei P10 lite using a Telkom mobile simcard on the phone.

I bought 10gb Lit music on Monday the 12/03/2018 to use on Google play music. I had no prior experience on Google Play music but I had used Deezer during Nov/Dec last year.

I streamed music for 2 hours on Monday set all qualities to normal under mobile network and WiFi. After the 2 hours I was left with 8 gb.

Tues decided not to stream but download few albums approximately about 5. Due to how I had consumed 2gb just streaming.

From Wednesday I've only been playing my albums offline trying to save a bit from my data plan. By the end of Wednesday I had 6gb left without any streaming. Only offline listening yet I had used 1gb.

At this point I was getting worried that I won't even last a month. Fast forward today I'm only left with 2.7gb without any streaming. How is this possible? Is this normal?

I've called And visited Telkom stores none could help. Set Cache music while streaming to off and all quality to normal on mobile network and WiFi.

I am on the 10gb once off Lit music. Under my data usage on my phone Google play music app doesn't appear so I can't track the data usage for some reason.

Is this normal? I'm I doing something wrong?

I don't know how to upload pictures I'd upload my Google Play Music settings screens hot.

Please help

On Android you can view the data usage by app under settings -> connections -> data usage

Just streamed on high for about 1 hour 30 minutes. P10 lite

Just streamed for 1 hour used about 191.3Mb tracked the usage via the GlassWire app. It appears to be normal on pair with what I was expecting. Perhaps something else is consuming data on the background, I'll just keep on monitoring.

Set Cache music while streaming to on will this then save every album I open or just the song/ track I play?

Cached is only for what was played (and fully downloaded whilst playing).

Just an update YouTube has been deducting from the wrong caps. I bought a 500gb night surfer been only streaming and downloading HD content early hours. Whilst streaming this morning I received a notification that I have 499Mb left on my Lit music. Check the GlassWire app to confirm the usage and it was all from YouTube. Google play music still on 191.3Mb.

Called Telkom once again the lady logged a case, I should have an answer by Friday. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you all for the help.

Wrong. Very Very wrong. GPM caches 'intelligently' based on what it thinks you are likely to play. It's a feature a lot of people have complained about.
Thanks for the correction. Very very thanks.
