Google puts SA on cyber map

This will certainly help to promote our country for the 2010 World Cup:).
Except they put the location of the PE Stadium about 4km from where it actually is.

One step further in google's plans to dominate the world... Now I can't leave my house or google will know that! Do you realise that these satelite images of which some of them so close up that you can see cars and people is a good way for criminals to plan their activities. If you can see what everyone's backyard looks like. Thanks google

How many criminals in south africa do you believe are actually using Google's outdated satellite images to plan their nefarious deeds?

If they wanted to they could probably walk into the local planning offices and get actual layouts of the exterior/interior of their intended victims.

i am guessing a great deal of the criminal element in South Africa is not internet savvy as well

aw shucks... they forgot to include all the Xenophobic hotspots and hijacking prone areas. How are the tourists supposed to survive without those?

Google do not have live satellite pictures. Only static ones. So I think you worry too much ;)

Google earth is cool, but they must update us on the google map.
Quick, easy and most new phone can use it.

Google doesn't update the satellite pictures very often. Last change was a two year gap or something and the imagery down here is piss poor compared to some Major First World cities where imagery is updated frequently.
Talk to me in 10 years time...

At might not be worth much but at least we are slowly moving on up in the world...

The images are very old though. Green Point and Soccercity construction hasn't even started yet.. Must be more than a year old

And they called Durban's stadium "New Mbombela Stadium" when in fact its named after Moses Mabhida (well was the last time I checked, Durban renames roads on a daily basis), I think Mbombela stadium is the Nelspruit one - Way to go SA Tourism !
