Just helped set up a site for my dad's shower door company. The site is currently on the second page after a SA search for "shower doors" and would like to get it nearer the top as who looks beyond page 1 for most searches (I know I don't).

I was referred to a site who can do it but as finances are tight, was wondering if there were ways I could do it myself. Or should I just stump up the cash and let the pros handle it?

Post a thread on mybb with the key words shower doors and a link to his site.
searchenginewatch.com is a great place to start.

Wouldn't that be considered spammy on most forums?

I run a fairly heavily trafficked site for an Oscar winning actress, I guess I could link to my dad's site from there.

A lot of people put links in their sigs. Use vb code like
(url=http:://www.dadsite.com)Shower Doors(url)
(but with square brackets) in your sig. Do it on some other forums too. I doubt the oscar winning actress would appreciate a random link to a shower doors place.

Fess up, whose nude pics do you have on your site?

The Oscar winning actress (*cough* Black Swan *cough*) thankfully doesn't have a say in it. Even though it's the dot com it's an unofficial site. My visitors might be a bit annoyed but I'm generally annoying anyone so nothing new there.

But thanks, I'll give it a whirl and see if I can get to that first search page.

Stupid question I'm sure but how do you create a sig on mybb. Can't see the field on the my profile page.

Could it be that I'm just overlooking it, or is it so clear than even a moron like myself wouldn't fail to spot it?

Click "USER CP" in the top right hand corner, 3rd block on the right hand side, 4 link is the sig setting

Thanks, I knew it was me! I had been searching around the "my profile" page.
