Is anybody else having a problem with Google Talk on 3G/GPRS ??
I keep getting an "Could not authenticate to server" error when i try to sign in.

You need a gmail account I believe and need to log in with that user id.

Well i havent actually used it to talk to someone yet, but i sign in fine on 3G though. Since Google Talk doubles as a email notifier as well, i know that part at least works [pops up with new mails etc]

I can log in. Test your login with your gmail account.

Google Talk uses the Jabber protocol so you can use clients such as Trillian and Gaim. You don't have to use their app. But the free Trillian Basic doesn't allow Jabber. I'm not going to run ANOTHER client. So I won't be using it for a while.

Damnit. My gmail log in is working fine, just the Google Talk thats giving me problems. I've disabled my firewall and still no luck.

I googled it and i'm not the only one with this problem, and nobody seems to know whats wrong or what the solution is(duh) =8(

I have the same problem, I thought maybe it is cause I got an invite not so long ago. Dailup, gprs nor ADSL works - dont have 3 G yet

I have used GTalk on HomeDSL192 without any problems, but haven't tried it again today - I personally prefer Skype.

I login fine with 3G! But on ADSL, well thats another story! Now that Vodacom have upgraded their international bandwidth, I truly notice much greater speeds, I must say!
