Google said on Tuesday it is refining PowerMeter software that tells residents which devices in their homes are electricity hogs and which are being frugal with energy.

Quite a number available. I use the Lovato units. Extremely sexy and can measure a few hundred parameters, but cheaper units are available that's more than adequate. If you want PM me.

This is a really interesting topic. We've got some seriously old, but still working, appliances (fridges, aircons). Knowing exactly how much power they consume, and being able to compare that with the figures for new appliances would be great.

Does anyone know of any plug-in watt hour meters available in SA? Something similar to these:
