Google unveils major Android revamp

Google unveiled the biggest update to its Android mobile operating system in years, weeks before its biggest competitor in the space, Apple, is expected to give a preview of its overhauled iPhone software.

The Alphabet Inc. unit is rolling out a new, bolder design language — called Material 3 Expressive — that spans the entire Android operating system as well as Google’s own apps like Gmail, it said in a blog post on Tuesday.

Security Updates

Aside from the redesigned software, Google announced several new or improved security features for Android users.

It’s expanding its existing AI-powered Scam Detection tool for Google Messages to include additional kinds of fraud, including financial impersonation, toll road, gift card, prize and technical support scams.

Until now, the technology was designed to detect package delivery and job seeking schemes. The company is also piloting in-call protection for banking apps, starting in the UK.

The company also plans to help ensure major settings changes — including full device resets — are made by the device owner rather than an intruder.

Separately, it’s rolling out a new Find Hub feature that will allow users to do things such as check if loved ones got home safely.

The stuff some okes here get a hard-on for.

I’d have loved that AI powered scam detection on the Apple App Store when I was scammed and Apple didn’t really care

Well you spammed the refund process 3 times.
Well, what happened is they allowed a scam app which took R1,000 from me

Then Apple said they need R300.00 Apple tax as well

Then they sent a mail saying request a refund - which they just denied three times

Then when I phoned them, they said they needed a few more people to get scammed first.

Then they collected enough and removed it.

That's pretty scummy

Lol playing the victim again. It was an obvious scam app.
How so?

Because I've called your beloved Apple out?

Surely you'd think they'd refund money from a scam app on their platform?
Surely they'd want to remove it rather than run it for another few weeks to get even more Apple tax?
Surely when they have managed to scam enough and remove it from the site, they could retroactivly refund?

Let's face - you live in a fantasty world
