Google vs EU in privacy battle

Regulators in Google’s largest European markets are taking joint action to try and force the company to overhaul its privacy policy.

Why does the EU have this obsession with Google? Google is the only company that actually lets me see what information about me they have on one easy accessible page. They also allow me to export that information, and close my account. I'm much more unsure about entrusting my information to Facebook, Microsoft, or Yahoo. So why this fixation with Google?

Because they need to start obeying privacy laws.
Or even better, start respecting privacy
