Hi well i would need it for normal browsing a few downloads and work. I'm in Web and Internet so will be FTPing, SSHing etc alot as well as working on sites direct. Hope a 3 gig is enough to start as cash is tight

Well your in the same industry as me then. (but its a Hobby now days). I also use my line for online game internationally.

Reason:
I usually buy one gig at a time, but some months I end up using MUCH more than 3 gigs, depends on what patchs are out, what demos I'm downloading, and the time of year, Around SA wakeboarding Champs time. I usually have to upload around 2-3 gigs of photo's and Videos to my websites for the Association But I decide how much I want to spend and when.

Also I upload quite a bit when I do update site.. Unshaped allows me to do this without the crawl from unshaped. My gaming is also at 350 ms where unshaped is at 900ms-25000ms

Pre paid also carries over. Last Month I got married, so went on honeymoon for 3 weeks. I got back and my BW from last month.. was still there unused.

Pro's:
I can top up when every I want
BW carries over
Top up (via Credit Card) is almost instant.. anytime of the day, even if capped since you can still access WA's site
Service is BRILLENT
Customer support is BRILLENT
No contract
Ability to LOCK you adsl to your home port (ie: No more hacked BW.. its happened to me twice)

Con's
Slightly more expensive (Now thats if I spend more than 3 gigs a month. 3 gigs a month, unshaped costs me R375.00 a month but next month I might only use 1 gig.. I've suddenly saved R154.00. If the same happens next month.. well work it out. Plus since it carries over and you never lose your BW.. hehe well Do the Math

Neither Openweb nor Cybersmart have contracts, you can pay month to month

Its all very well saying IS or an IS reseller but really, how useful is the extra local these days? I'd sooner take the TelkomInternet 3gb and then some

Most of the protocols you mentioned shouldnt be affected by shaping anyway so I wouldnt bother with the excess charged for unshaped just yet. See how it goes.
