Any app suggestions or tips?

I've been able to circumvent the pc file transfer troubles with HFS (http file server) running locally on my pc. If anyone wants the template (its optimised for WP7 screens), let me know.

Btw, how much data do you okes use in a month on average? I just bought a 100mb bundle when I got it.

Loving the phone so far; I was surprised at the responsiveness of the screen the moment I got it.

I have a 1.5gb bundle, but that's because i download a lot of music.
I recomend WhatsApp and Skype.

I use 100 to 150mb a month, but I'm mostly on wifi.

If you like to track your exercise (running or cycling), I recommend the endomondo app. It's the only one that I've tried that actually works for tracking exercise for a long period of time.

I use Seesmic for uploading pics to Facebook and twitter, and for quoting on twitter - but normally I use the standard Facebook and Twitter apps.

Flashlight 7 for a torch.

TuneIn radio for internet radio.

Definitely check out the Nokia apps (like music, drive, and city lens).

Get "AppFlow" which will help you find lots of nice apps, and filters out crap.

My favorite games at the moment:
geoDefence Swarm
Feed me Oil

And follow http://wpcentral.com

Thanks for the replies (tbh I completely forgot about this thread :p)

I haven't tried to buy anything in the marketplace, but I assume you need to use a credit card if you can't use airtime yet?

Also, I noticed something interesting today. It seems that tango hasn't been rolled out yet (Not in the US according to some website, they only start rolling it out tomorrow), but I've had it since I got the phone (I got mine straight from MS though, via a developer initiative). My version number is 7.10.8773.98 for those who are interested. I haven't testing the internet sharing, but the option is there.

Hoping for the Apollo update though, but we'll probably know after tomorrow's announcement.

Favourite apps so far:

SoundHound (had Shazam trial for a while, but that has some limitations)
Lyrics (it fetches the lyrics for the song playing in zune)
Whatsapp
Wikitude
Weather
Supertube
SA Movie Guide
Authenticator (For Google services with the one-time password thing)

Yup - it seems that all devices are coming with Tango installed.

What battery life are you getting on it? And have you had any freezes/hangups?

Tango is the lightweight Mango. Aren't you running Mango?

Actually tango is after mango, and officially its called Refresh. It's mainly bug-fixes and support for lower-end devices. All current phones will be getting it though.

i was under the impression that windows mobile 7.8 was available for this device? not in south africa?

Owners of current Windows Phone smartphones will instead be offered a slimmed down version of Apollo in the form of Windows Phone 7.8, which will still bring the new homescreen from Windows 8 along with some other new minor features. Nokia has promised it will also continue to support its Lumia range by providing regular updates along with some unique features to the Lumia series.

The company has now announced that both the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 will be receiving another software update next week on June 27th, and will bring with it features such as media streaming, flip to silence, and Internet sharing.

This comes alongside some other new features that Nokia has revealed for the Lumia series such as data counter, DLNA connectivity, camera improvements, contact sharing, and some exclusive Zynga game titles such as Draw Something and Words With Friends. It remains to be seen if these updates will make up for users that have only just purchased some of the Lumia range, only to see it miss out on the next version of the operating system.

sorry seems Im a bit confused. Can anyone tell me where I can find this data counter they talking about??

Now I want a windows phone...
