Gothic 2 Low Fps

Finally managed 2 get hold of this game again.Only problem is I'm getting almost 8fps outdoors with max settings. Even with the lowest detail it does this,tried changing settings in ATI catalyst. CPU is quad at 2,4ghz. 4gb ram and HD 4870 512mb gfx.

some1 tel me theres a fix!

got the latest version of game, 2.7
Got the latest ATI catalyst drivers, 9.12

On a somewhat off topic note, i assume you are aware of their latest game called "Risen" ? Might be easier to get that going and all. Even though they called it Risen, you'll soon realise it is basically Gothic 2.5 .

Gothic 3 does not count imho, they screwed things up turning it into some sort of sandbox game, Risen is closer to a geniune sequel to Gothic 2 than Gothic 3 ever was .

yeah i've heard that gothic 3 was a dissapointment. Still it would b nice to follow the story to know what happens with Xardas and the crew. Hopefully Gothic 4 picks up.
