GPRS on Vodacom Just Won't Work - Please help

Sounds like it may be similar to this problem [http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=53565] that I am still experiencing intermittently.

My phone is jumping around between 3 states at the moment and its getting really annoying:
1: GPRS works fine
2: Phone reports a connection failure and tells me I should check the coverage
3: Phone connects and then sits "finding server" for about 5 mins until it times out (when checking mail)

When you say delete and recreate the APN's - do you mean on your phone? Cause last time I looked at that stuff on my Vodafone SE K750i it was all locked and inacessable due to the wonderful Vodafone firmware :(

No not at all,

Muks problem was not being able to get onto GPRS at all, although he seemed to be configured correctly on the systems, so the solution was to delete his profile on the network (not phone) and recreate it.

You want to read that from the helpless helpdesk 155 :

"Thank you for your e-mail.Please accept our sincere apology for not responding within 24 hours. We are currently experiencing extremely high volumes of e-mails hence us not being able to honour our service level agreement. We are in the process of recruiting new staff in an attempt to alleviate the load per consultant. Please be advised as per our record your query have been resolved on the 20-09-2006 as per our Advanced data solutions Department."

problem however NOT resolved, no GPRS at The Crags still seven days later.
Connection in Plettenberg Bay with some hickups possible ......

I don't think there are more helpless helpers needed, but rather some technicians in the know.
