I'm looking at getting a Sony Ericsson Satio and wondering if there were any GPS software apps with local maps around for it? I've looked around but can't really find/not clued up.
The phone's running Symbian OS S60 5th edition.
Looking to have an all-in-one phone/ipod/gps sort of solution.
Google maps or its preinstalled Wisemaps or whatever its called won't cut it, I'm not keen on a fat 3G bill.

Garmin and Nokie Ovi Maps, you can download the Nokia Maps to your phone too.

I have the W995 and it includes A-GPS with Google Maps and Wayfinder.
Doesn't use a great deal of data actually.
Depends on your use tough.

Pls can someone tell me ..does the Satio have the GPS software already installed?
Do I have to buy it?

Does it sunstitute buying a TomTom etc? so can I use it to route find?

Please advise

Thanks

George

the satio comes with a one month! Garmap solution. i use Garmap with a 2 year licence ( from another contract) and its very good, speed trap alerts, very accurate.
ps. it is AGPS but data charges are really minimal. did a test once, about 10 km trip literally didnt even cost 1c. read somewhere that a 600 km trip will cost R1, dont know how true that is. the advantage of agps is that you always have the latest map.
