GPU Value Comparisons

Well, depends on how you want to overclock it. I have the powercolor 7870 Myst, and I did expirment with overclocking a bit with litecoin mining. I can say this, the card is LOUD when overclocked, but mine only has one fan. I think it should overclock okay, but not sure.

You can get a Sapphire card for cheaper than the gigabyte eventually I think though.

LOL! So true on the Myst! That card is actually a Boeing engine in disguise!

For the people buying cards out there , make sure you get 3gb vram + cards , seems 2gb is to little these days :(

Testing a gtx 680 here , runs out of vram on bf4 :(

Just something to keep in mind , i am running at 2560x1080 and dell releasing there new 4k monitors soon also :P

4k bracket go for R 9280x

5.5k go for R 9290 , best value for money card in world right now!

If you're dealing with higher resolutions sure; but still at 1920 do you think 3gb vram is important?

1920 I can't see how 3gb is necessary.
Yeah, 2GB is the norm for 1920x1080. You won't see a massive performance increase between 2GB and 4GB at that res. Maybe 5%, which is not worth the extra cost.

I will test at 1920x1080 today , but i was nearing the limit of 2gb on it also , will just make double sure now.

hahaha indeed. pushing the card makes it sound like the computer is going to hover around. Decent card though apart from that.

Dice did warn of this. My HD7970 has 3GB memory. :)

I'm running R9-280x in crossfire and windows 8.1 and i can see I'm using more than 3GB vram and i think it's due to dx11.2. Sharing of the system ram with graphics memory. I'm @ 96Hz 2560x1440 and man it's amazing. Getting 96FPS on high to ultra without msaa and HBAO turned off

I wish I went with the Sapphire toxic R9-280x in crossfire rather than the club3d ones. The club3d card doesn't come with any cooling on the memory only the heatsink that covers the card. All i can say is it sounds better than it really is.

i have some issues with Farcry 3, Crysis 3 and sometimes in battlefield 4 where i get some frame drops. I had to disable frame pacing to be able to play. Frame pacing on + vsync is a no go for crossfire.

Let me know if you want to get rid of one of those cards at a good price :p Want to see the difference in my BF4 performance from my 7870 LE.
