GPU Value Comparisons

Hi guys.

Looking for a new GPU. Mainly for Battlefield 1.

My setup that I dont plan on upgrading:
i5 4670k
8GB ram
SSD
1920x1200 dell

Currently have a R9 270k so I want a quite a significant upgrade. Want to play the game 60+ FPS on high.

Looks like its a toss up between 1060, 480x and maybe 1070 (probably overkill).

Anyone with experience on the matter?

B

1060 will average ~95fps at 1080p with bf1 on ultra settings. At 1440p it will average ~65fps still on ultra.

I considered that one but from reports its very noisy, normally I wouldn't worry about that but my last card made a hell of a noise which was fine for the first few months but a few years down the line its irritating.

Also for R600 more you can get http://www.wootware.co.za/powercolo...8GB+Graphics+Ca&utm_campaign=featured product which is the 8gb version and you just don't hear this card, even pushing the fan speed up to 70% its barley audible.

You will also be a little more future proofed.

The Zotac 1050 ti is over a grand cheaper than the cheapest 1060. I do think the 1060 is the best price/perf but if you only got R2400 the 1050ti doesn't look bad. There is always something better for just R1k more.

yeah its just funny how the pricing worked out for South Africa on that card to be the same price as its big brother.

"Premium" budget cards never make sense. As others have mentioned the entry level Zotac 1050 Ti is a good option for many, a lot better than the RX 460 4GB and slightly cheaper too. AMDs plan to attack the entry level market sure doesn't look like it's working now.

Yeah - if 2 grand is what you have to spend, a 1050 is the easy choice. I'm not seeing much gain in the Ti for the premium though.

Some of these manufacturers are seriously out of whack with their pricing but idiots will buy it. If you only have R2.5k and wan't gtx960 levels of 'performance' then get the zotac 1050ti but if it's at all possible to safe another R1k you can get so much more for your money.

The best rx 480 is the xfx 480 gtr black addition which is not priced far from a gtx 1070, madness!

MSI gtx 760 twin frozr iv 2gb video card drivers???

I need help finding the right drivers for my graphics card: MSI gtx 760 twin frozr iv 2gb. I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 and from then on everything went haywire. I get these annoying faint horizontal lines when playing games and when watching HD movies and a bunch of other irritations like my telkom D-link modem no longer work:  Please be as basic as you can if you can offer advise I'm am not "I.T. fluent" I 'm more of a "Let's do this..Leroy Jenkins!" kinda person.

http://www.geforce.com/drivers click auto detect your GPU or select it from the list.

If that doesn't fix it check that none of the pins are bent from screen to card, unless you use a HDMI cable.

Try using a screen from someone else to see if its the screen.

This sounds like you PC has been hit by lightning considering your router is gone and funny problems are happening with your PC. You will often find that the network port stops working on the motherboard as well. In that case phone insurance

Is a low profile RX460 too much to ask for?
It looks like the low profile market is neglected of late.
