GPU Value Comparisons

Thanks guys.

The reason I ask about the multi-card scenario is, like I said, because I want to, and also would like to try and get best bang for buck in the longer run. Was thinking of getting a single Mid-range card now that might be good and be able expand later and rather use the extra $$$ I might save now on a proper case and RAM or whatever.

Got a beeeeg update on the way, trying to fit in the CF of HD77xx and up, as well as GTX680 SLI and GTX690. Will likely publish the results Friday :)

Ok, think its all done. GTX670 is in there too, and I felt like changing the colour scheme :p Now that the list is getting big again, I'm confused again on how to sort it - by name, price, performance or value  If you can give me a good reason to go one way or the other I'll happily change it.

edit: Oh right, forgot to put in my thoughts after this batch. It basically boils down to this: GTX670 or bust. HD79xx is again irrelevant unless they drop pricing (again), which will obviously need a cascade effect down the HD7xxx line. Even a GTX680 is in half a tough spot. Yes its still top dog, but the GTX670 comes really close in several titles (like BF3 and Metro) that the extra cost cant be justified in my opinion. However, all this depends on stock in the channel. I've yet to see GTX680 have decent stock levels, I suspect GTX670 will suffer the same fate due to issues with production. Only time will tell how it all plays out

As always, let me know if you find any errors

Love the new black and green colour scheme Archer, guessing you got inspiration from your rig.

The GTX670 is actually available from several vendors in SA already. Ordered my Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Edition on the 15th. So I guess it looks like stock levels are already in a better position. This card is a major win for consumers!

PS. Great work!

If you need a 6850, email PC-Direct. I got a MSI OC one for 1599 from them a month ago (although it might have been special pricing, since it was part of a relatively big order)

Prophecy has the KFA2 670 OC model in stock for r4600.

Not sure if I must go 560ti sli (I have one already) or if I must save up, sell the 560ti and get a 670...Any suggestions? BTW, i have a 560ti capable psu, so no extra cost needed there. Also a 2600k, gene-z and 8 gigs ram, so a pretty up to date system...

Don't mean to troll, but the classifieds here aren't really organized
I'm selling my GTX 590 to upgrade to a 690 end of July (slightly less than a year old) So if anyone's interested, drop me a pm R5000

Prices for the 570? Coz i'm pretty sure you can find 7850's close to the price of a 560ti and it blows it out the water...and a 7870 keeps up with a 580 most times, let alone a 570. And with driver updates, will probably surpass it. So yea, my vote is neither :) Or wait for the 660ti and see what it can do.

I am leaning more to the 7850, but they are very close together according to this, so now i really don't know which one to get. Is there any performance loss with AMD radeon and Intel?

I want to wait for the 660ti, but don't know if I can wait that long :)

I'd either get the GIGABYTE GV-R785OC-2GD, HD7850 @ R2624
OR the MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC, GTX560 Ti @ R2390
Unfortunately both cards seem to be sold out at Rebeltech.

According to Techpowerup, the hD7850 is about 10% faster on average than the GTX560 Ti, which makes their performance/Rand pretty much the same.

Also, as you can see from Archer's chart, the GTX560 Ti & HD7850 offer roughly the same value for money:

Yes but what about the 570, tough choice between the 7850 and the 570, the 7850 runs allot cooler though.

Can get the 570 for R2 734.86
