Damn, I was a bit off with my pricing there. Where can you get the HD448's for for R950 locally? I'm surprised the PC-350's aren't cheaper since the HD595's used to be the same price, and the price was pushed down by the new HD598's. Was hoping the PC-350's would be pushed down by the new PC-360's.

A local audio shop here can buy from Sennheiser SA, still doing some investigations. The audio technica a700/m50's look good as well. Can get them from Take2 and Head-Fi rate them very highly.

The Audio Technica ATH-M50 are very highly rated, you can get them on ebay for around R1000.

Bought a pair on eBay last year from an authorized Audio-Technica seller for just under R1000 incl all duties and shipping to my door
Good value does not get better than that!!
Search for proaudiomart on eBay , price may have increased by now but that seller was pretty much the cheapest seller in the world...

I recently bought Sennheiser HD380 Pros from amazon in the UK and had a friend post it to me for less than R1000.

They are also currently on special everywhere.

I must also say these things sound great even when plugged into an iPhone/iPod/un-amped source.

Well, I bought one pair at Sounds Great, so I already know what they sound like... (its a R339 saving for me...)
