Graeme Smiths tweets

Yeah,he was probably drunk when he did it,according to his grammar(not sure if my grammar is right there) Id like to know what he was replying to?Where did kepler say all of that stuff?

Kepler said it on the weekly inside edge cricket show.

Smith is probably right that wessels should be complaining about the selection if he was part of the commitee that selected that team. But smith shouldn't be having a go through twitter they should do it face to face imho.

I like smith always have but it may be time for a change of captaina t least in the limited overs version of the game.

I am so sick of the crap performance by the Proteas (for the past few years). They are k@k. Fire everyone and start over.

Get the 2 saffers who won the T20 WC for england back in the country.

I'd like to know exactly what Kepler said. Smith's quote actually doesn't make too much sense with the lack of grammar in the rant. It could be interpreted that Kepler was confessing that he too was to blame for not selecting younger guys.

And the comment about the others not having winner's medals. Is he attacking them in terms of T20 - which wasn't even invented when those guys played? Or that Apartheid robbed the world of the greatest players ever and when we were readmitted, they were past their prime? Kepler wasn't the only one to complain. It's been virtually everybody except Jonty. :D

EDIT: Incidentally, there is a list of the best rated players of all time (which is their highest rating achieved in their careers). http://cricketratings.com/

ODI

8 = G.Kirsten
17 = K.C. Wessels (when playing for Aus)
25 = W.J. Cronje
29 = L. Klusener
35 = J.H. Kallis
38 = D.J. Cullinan
51= G.C. Smith and A.B. de Villiers

If he thought Kepler was critical, then he should have heard Fanie !!! He had a full go!

You're an EP/Warrior man, so you'll know this: Kepler has had his critics over the years, but most people probably don't know how he turned EP around in the mid '80s and what he sparked. I know people who knew the players in those days and yes, he was a tyrant, but knew what had to be done to win and would stand for nothing less. He has calmed done a bit these days, but still a bit too much for Smith's values/opinions.

oh dear, I see Graeme is doing a Ryan Babel /facepalm. Today he tweeted himself braaing in a foil tray with make shift grill ... we call it the "Graeme Smith lethargic fatty braaing machine"

I have played against him (locally) when he was captaining EP and played with/against most of the EP players at that time. He brought a whole new dimension to local cricket as he was in charge of the UPE cricket setup and it rubbed off on the other clubs. He was/is ruthless and very goal orientated and brought with him a whole new culture of cricket. Fitness programmes, fielding routines, net practice routines, pre-match routines, etc. It added a new edge to local cricket, believe me!!!

Awesome. Yeah I remember all of that - well the stories at least. :) Never used to miss a local game at St George's in those days (of isolation). Still support Warriors 100% and hardly miss any of their limited overs games at Newlands.
