Doesn't mean we shouldn't want to retain the ability to purchase something that will continue working regardless if some corporation decides to take down some servers or remove it entirely. A digital download is just a licence that is at the whim of the distributor of that licence.

PC makes it slightly easier as it's less involved to retain a "personal copy" of the title and you don't need to mod your PC to play those.

Most software you buy today is digital too.

There are more important things to be upset about; like the game not launching with a PC version that is a legit thing to be upset over.

What happens when people want to sell their console to buy the next gen release and you have 20 games on your HDD? They are useless to the buyer, no? With discs you can get some money for them or keep them to play with backwards compatibility.

Yes and no, but most of them should be playable on the new console.

All games are linked to your account. Wipe the console. Buy the next gen. Load up games again if you want. Or don’t. Lots of PS4 games work with PS5.

Yes you can’t get money for them. But you can still play them.

Exactly, most would want to sell their last gen games to put toward the new console.

And if you have say 25 games, that's a lot of money you lose out on.

Or sell your account if you really want to sell your games. I probably have around R100k worth of games tied to my accounts across PS and Xbox...

Physical media has been dying for ages now and I’m all for it. Less environmental impact. Less plastic and paper waste.

You are aware that you can plug a console into that 1440/120Hz monitor right?
 
And there are 4k120 OLED TV's.

My LG CX OLED and Series X is a great combo, I can use these for quite a few more years.

Yes, but GTA 6 will still run at 30 fps even on a PS5 Pro. This is exactly why I would rather wait for the PC release so I can run it at 120 FPS. Only a console peasant could be satisfied with a mere 30 fps in 2026. I would gouge my eyes out with that experience.

I'm not expecting a 60fps mode but it would be a nice surprise. Maybe a 40fps for PS5 Pro is realistic...

R* have never released a game not locked to 30fps on consoles I believe. But again those days it was the norm, nowadays the vast majority of games have a 60fps option, I can't really think of any games that don't.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be 60fps on PS6 eventually xD

And they will probably force you to buy a new copy of the game for PS6 / Xbox (whatever the new one will be called)
