Hi!

I'm having some connection issues when playing GTA V online on Xbox 360. I would be playing OK for a few minutes, but then all of a sudden the whole room clears put. All the other players leave at once. I can move to another session, but the same thing happens after a few minutes.

I have opened up all the GTA related ports (as per Rockstar's instructions), as well as enabled uPnP on my router. My service provider is MWEB and I am on an uncapped 2MB package. A friend of mine is with iBurst, and apparently he is having issues because of the shaping rules on his account. They are "looking into it...".

Is anyone else going through something similar?

Are you on the standard or premium package? The latter has higher priority for gaming. Try get a trial account from one of the other ISPs so that you can rule that out.

Morning Inky1980, are you only having problem with GTA V?

Have you tested any other games?

Please also inbox me your MWEB account details.

You are not allowed to play online games on the 2MB packages. You are an abuser and should be ashamed of yourself

Hi rulerofiron99

As mentioned to you on your FB profile, you on the 2MB Standard package. You mentioned you are a gamer, the Standard package was not designed for this. It is for the basic user who browse & email.

Please see product description: http://www.mweb.co.za/productspricing/2/Home/adsl/UncappedAdsl.aspx

I also provide you with the steps on how to sign in on My Account.

Hi there, I'm on the 2MB uncapped package. No other issues with any other online games. I believe GTA V has been a bit of a nightmare though. Will inbox you now!

Thanks for the inbox messages, I have requested our gaming team to do some testing.

We will provide you the results of our testing, as soon as we completed it. ;)

I have an Xbox 360 and have jammed GTA Online just fine with my 1 meg uncapped account. All the issues I've had with GTA Online have been because of them and their servers.

So it's either that, or your issue is an isolated incident IMO.

Thanks MWEB guy, looking forward to hearing the results!

Are you with MWEB? Have you messed around with your NAT at all? I've forwarded the ports recommended by Rockstar, with no success. That's pretty much where my technical knowledge stops.

If so, that's strange. My buddy is with iBurst and they have told him that it has to do with shaping. Another friend is with Afrihost on a 4mb shaped account, and he is playing fine. And now there's you...
