Graphics card upgrade

Greetings,
So, as per subject line, I feel I need to upgrade my GPU.
I currently have Geforce 650 GTX 1gb card in my machine.
the machine itself is i5-3470 with 8gb RAM running W10 on SSD.

My budget is R2000 max.

Any advice?

Sold a R9 290x for that price not a week ago. Check the ads on Carbonite. Bargains do come along, but tend to be grabbed quickly. I was lucky enough to get a 1080 for under R7k, but only because I refreshed the page at the right time.

Check Carbonite.

If you could stretch your budget you can get a GTX 970 for between R2500-R3000 (depending on how good you are at negotiating).

This card will still last you a while.

If you really don't want to spend any extra then look out for a R9 380/280, GTX 960 or 1050Ti.
