It doesn't seem though that the rising diesel price is doing anything to the best selling vehicles like the Hiluxes , Rangers and even Fortuners as lifestyle vehicles. This might still change in favour of the petrol SUV.
Yip, good lord, I know one guy who bought a brand new Toyota Prado just after we hit R17/liter. The thing has a total fuel tank capacity of 150L ... that's over R2500 to fill up!?!?!?!?!!?!?!People out there has insane amount of money by the looks of it. Everywhere I drive , I see, these SUVs are by the 100s...

Yep, bought a Prado new around 2005, the double tanks give you a shock when you first fill. Thought they were more like 200L both tanks. My first though was by 1c, seems I was only half wrong. Why does diesel keep going up?
What does that have to do with anything?Diesel and parafin used for heating in European winter?
Great news – Petrol price expected to decrease
The AA has stated that it expects the petrol price to decrease in November.
“Fuel prices have moderated during October, with the prospect of some relief for petrol users, although users of diesel and illuminating paraffin will have to cough up more,” said the AA.
Not just that... its company cars/car allowances, company petrol cards etcLike I say.. i think 99% of car owners earn way more than me (lol). But seriously, the amount of SUVs (Fortuners, Everest , Pajeros ) is crazy. I don't want to see these people's fuel bills. And petrol price aren't scaring them...
