Great news – Petrol price expected to decrease

Yip, good lord, I know one guy who bought a brand new Toyota Prado just after we hit R17/liter. The thing has a total fuel tank capacity of 150L ... that's over R2500 to fill up!?!?!?!?!!?!?!

A guy at work drives a first gen Discovery V8 to work daily.

Very true, but hey we live in south africa

Funnily enough I read about a petrol price decrease in Japan on a news site this morning and the comments and biatching on that article are exactly the same as the ones in this thread.

And you can remain in the dark if you can't figure out that I am talking supply and demand pricing...
You haven't explained anything. You only mentioned winter in Europe as if we import diesel from Europe.

^ this

fuel price always goes up over December (because of the holiday)....

Source for that claim?

Sorry Libs, that's rubbish. As has been suggested, Northern hemisphere has a impact due to increased fuel demand for winter. Simple economics, more users in northern countries by capita than southern.

Or better said : corollary vs causality?

With the European demand for Diesel going up I would assume the world wide price would also go up. So if the demand for diesel goes up more than the demand for petrol, diesel price would go up more.

I assume this is what he meant, or that's how I read his post anyway.

Petroleum price coming down? What is this I don’t even

That’s over 10 years. Trend is up. Always up. 16c pah

Looks like diesel that is cheaper to produce is being used to subsidize gasoline.
