You will note that every so often, I pick a different vegetable and then ask you good people for alternative ideas on how to prepare it. I get stuck in a kitchen rut too quickly.

Today: green beans. What is your favourite way of preparing it?

Thanks

When I saw the thread, I was going to ask about this very thing. :p

The simplest and tastiest, if you like your veggies crunchy, sauteed in butter and served with a creamy sauce. But then you did say alternative, and I don't really know how you usually cook them.

Sautéd in butter with red onions, chopped almonds and cayenne pepper to add a bit of spicyness

I normally do sauteed garlic green beans.

:)

They taste pretty good curried...

As in curried green beans in a bottle (almost like a type of achaar) or .... ?

Was there one of these threads on cabbage? I seem to have bought some baby cabbage heads in a moment of madness.

And on that note, why not have one 'help blu decide what to cook' thread? :p

LOL!

Yes, I think I did start a cabbage thread a while ago.

Boiled with bacon and served with toasted almond slivers.

Fry onion, garlic, and fresh tomatoes into a pan and simmer with olive oil. then add the beans the earlier you add them the softer they become so it depends how soft you want them.
Take out sprinkle with salt flakes and lemon pepper and eat.
