Greencom

This has not been deployed in Sunninghill as yet as most of the complexes we have done have been installed via the old intercom conduits.
As we begin to roll out to the older gated communities with large properties and no existing conduits , this is where the Hydrotec system will be deployed in a lot of cases .

Just for my understanding: You have two Y-connectors (one inside the property) and the other outside the property behind the meter? In my case the Y-connector would literally be just 30cm below ground (as this is how deep CoJ Water put the piping) - aren't you worried that gardeners/landscapers on common property damage your cabling. Joburg Water constantly digs around our property and in 8 months managed to destroy sprinklers four times.

30cm is unusually shallow and i have not come across this , we would not deploy this technology if the water pipe is deployed to shallow.

My line is down again for the 2nd time this week. How can I cancel DSTV when something is so unstable? I can't. FML

Still nothing. I hope it's sorted before the weekend.

Friday Update: An MFN technician was out but could not fix ****. He says he will see me tomorrow. Let's hope he actually shows.

Hello D3x

Yes, the issue was resolved by splicing damaged fibre. resolved on 21 November 2015

Hi Paul.

I know lots of people are asking to expand to their cities/areas. I am one of them. Can you please consider expanding to Rustenburg (Cashan). We are stuck with slow ADSL and we need faster internet. It is also close to PTA/JHB and has so many people wanting faster internet!

Thanks

Hi tsavvy

I feel your pain ! We may have a look at this in 2016 but as suggested in another thread its all about if the numbers are there, I will PM you my contact number .

Does anyone who who is trenching in Kyalami? I hope it's MFN.

I also wanted to ask if Greencom has a Clint zone where we can see our data usage and log tickets etc?

we are introducing a client zone next year at the moment fault reporting is done via our service call centre .

As for the data usage , the service is truly uncapped , you will NOT get capped or throttled . Until this client zone is in place you can always in a special curcumstance PM me and i will advise you of usage .

is anyone in sunninghill using guys called firestream as their fibre isp? i stay in the gardens and my neighbour is using them. she is raving about the service she received. she also says that the speeds are insanely fast. they also appear to be cheaper than greencom as per their facebook page. i think i will sign up with them but wanted to see if anyone else has anything to say about them. thanks peeps.

Their AS number is registered to Cipherwave so looks like rebranding. Their address is Dimension Data.

dont know what an AS number is but I spoke with them and I will be signing up today. they told me that they have just launched a 5mbps uncapped service but I plan on taking the 20mbps option.

Yawn, Feb 2015 to January 2016, 3 different applications and still no FTTH in Edison Crescent. Tried calling Greencom to get some idea of when it will be rolled out but received no answers. I'm now investigating other alternatives.

Anyone running a SIP hardware or software phone on Greencom? Want to know what is the most reliable and cost effective option please!

We are busy assessing take up in Northwold. Please register interest on our website. The more we have, the earlier we get there.

In terms of Kyalami Manor this is in the planning stages and on the horizon for early this year.

For the SIP phone we have several clients using different options. Will let you hear from some of them on their experiences. Reliability not an issue.

We are starting the year at a gallop. Sunninghill is on the way to full coverage and we are starting Lonehill, Rivonia, Paulshof, Kengies, Broadacres and Fourways in the next few months. Rivonia is ready to roll.
