Grocery Specials Thread

I can't help but to post this so do not shout at me. SA bread is so manufactured to size and has no taste.
If you ever come to Portugal, you will see that in supermarkets the largest sections will be the bread section.
The breads here are made by God's angels and are soooo good. No bricks or sliced as in factory stuff but large elephant turd shapes with a nice crust and a moist warm inside. Soo good and they cost half of the SA factory breads.
No slicing needed as you just tear a chunk off and smear it with butter or olive oil.

You said moist :crylaugh:

All this for R260 total. Nice specials here is the tissue for R19 per pack, surf 2kg washing powder for R29.95 and 2 x dairy blend juice for R10. :)

Cambridge Food has some epic specials. I always go through their pamphlets. Last week was A-grade rump and t-bone steak for R59.95 p/kg

How was the shopping experience in Cambridge? Haven't been in there yet.

Well here in Richards bay it's situated in a nice place. If it was in a taxi rank like Boxer I would not have gone. The Richards Bay Cambridge Food is nice clean and the people wash off their shelves with a bucket and water every day. I would say they are cleaner and better than picknpay here.

I'll have to try it. I stopped shopping at Pick n Pay years ago. I'd rather pay extra and not have to put up with odours of fridges not working.

Yeah to be honest I caught all major stores with that. The butchery smell when blood runs down and do not get cleaned properly or regularly.... Puts one off immediately.....

I have the same issue with Checkers. I have not been to a single Checkers that doesn't stink. I'm forced to use them due to eBucks though.

I'd prefer PnP. PnP in my area is quite nice.

FreshStop @ Caltex. KZN stores.

Not bad for a 7kg pocket of potatoes. Not bad for chips and general cooking.

Checkers supposedly has some deals for tomorrow only, 6pm-8pm, if the manager at my local checkers hyper is to be believed. Could not find any more details about it anywhere though. She said details will only be revealed tomorrow ... :erm:
