GTA 6 delayed again

You can play one your couch.

And no I don't want some jet engine sitting in my lounge, people who do that are the same types who used to connect their laptops to their TVs to watch their pirated stuff...
Handhelds exist as well ;-) can play anywhere.
Also if you've got a PS5 you've already got a jet engine in your lounge.

Sounds like a you problem tbh. This gen has been amazing for me personally. Considering we had with covid, cost of living crisis etc.

And the next 2 years will be fantastic as well.
What's been amazing about it? Point out the amazing things about this generation?

I admit nothing of the sort. Your bitterness is rather OTT.

And I haven't bought the PS5 Pro as yet.
What has made this generation of gaming good? Or any better than previous? Considering games are still being released for the previous generation?
Granted Cyberpunk did play like crap on the older generation consoles, but I mean that is already a 6 year old game and it took 2 maybe 3 years to fix.

I am wrong, yet people are not buying consoles
By generation I include PC, long development times for games effects everything. Games are taking too long, which just makes this continuous upgrading pointless really.

We've both just posted numbers of PS5 and Switch sales - nothing wrong with them.

Black Friday sales and Xbox sales are not a marker the rest of the industry.

Oook back on Xbox for some odd reason when all console sales are down, hell even the Switch 2 is dropping the production numbers cause it isn't selling as well...
It's simple, we need games to justify these expensive machines and developers take forever to release them that by the time we get the game it's been 2 generations.

Eish. There nothin g wrong with games fom previous generations they just run better on PS5. And I like remastered games - first (and only) Soul's game I played and finished was the PS5 Demon Soulds.

And had great fun doing it. :)

Seeing that we are off topic, I hate the Unreal Engine look on all the new games. They all look the same to me.
Agree, this is indeed a problem. Especially how buggy UE 5 is.

That is the issue, we're back to playing games from previous generations cause there are no new games.
It's like hollywood releasing the same slop over and over again.

I don't get that.
There has never been so many games available. Its so much just choosing what to play is overwhelming.

Where are these new games? Unless you're talking about indie games?

Sheesh dude - you are like a grumpy old man complaining about nothing :)

Look at sales figures and amount of money made and then come back and say consoles deserve to die.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I think you are transferring your personal disappointment at Xbox to the other consoles.

Those aren't sales figures by the way, they're consoles shipped :-) not the same as actual sales. You keep harping on about the Xbox, could you point on this dolly where it hurt you? I say generation you keep going on and on about Xbox... Not sure you're understanding the concept here. The one who seems to be transferring here is you.

Some highlights for me, most of which I’ve played or some that I still plan on playing. And yes, some of these also released on older consoles, and some are sequels and remakes. That doesn’t disqualify them at all.

We had:
  • Baldur’s Gate 3, a generational CRPG
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (rocky launch aside)
  • Demon’s Souls remake
  • God of War: Ragnarok
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (even though I’m not the biggest E33 fan I can respect it)
  • Several new FromSoftware games:
    • Elden Ring
    • Armored Core 6
  • Astro Bot, a game that won GOTY and even rivalled the likes of Mario 3D platformer games
  • Returnal, which is probably still my favourite current gen game and it’s about to get a spiritual successor in less than a month
  • We just had a new Resident Evil game that was received extremely well. Then we have other **** like Crimson Desert, POE2, Spider Man 2, Donkey Kong Bananza, Nioh 3, Ghost of Yōtei etc.

Then we had amazing smaller games and/or Indies:
  • Balatro
  • Blasphemous 1 & 2
  • Absolum
  • Lumines Arise
  • Silksong
  • Slay the Spire 2
  • Hades 2
  • Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
  • Animal Well
  • Neva
  • Prince of Persia Lost Crown

Multiplayer wise we had stuff like:
  • BF6
  • Arc Raiders
  • Helldivers 2

Nevermind stuff that is releasing this year still:
  • Pragmata
  • Wolverine
  • 007 game
  • Phantom blade 0
  • Marvel: Tokon
I’ve probably missed a whole bunch as well but mostly just went off memory. And I've not even mentioned most of the stuff MS plans to release or already released.

We are also still 2 years away from the gen 'ending' in a traditional sense.

So yea, for me it's been amazing.

Hit the nail on the head.

The disrespect the PS5 gets is insane. 60fps became the norm, load times are gone.
This is the first PS console that had backwards compatibility with the previous gen for the first time since 2000 so you have access to almost 13 years worth of games with support still extending far into the PS6 generation.

And take off a couple of million and you have console sales - very significant sales, still.

And I bring it up because I remember you saying there was no winner in our little console war, which was clearly a statement of made in denial. And is clearly continuing on with your protests about how this console generation "sucks.. Aside from you psoting a link about Xbox sales now as well.

So yes, you are transferring - big time.

Finally someone who actually answers with something :-) not just it's been great mkay.

As opposed to your emotional fluff? Like not all of us were going to take all that time to point out the obvious to you.
