Gtalk termination date has been set

What about hangouts on iOS and android? I thought gtalk had been replaced by hangouts long ago tbh.

I still have a working copy of gtalk on my phone (courtesy of TiBackup). Hangouts is still missing some of the functionality of gtalk - like easily seeing who is online.

Agree. Thats why our office used it. And Hangouts is just not the same. Now we moved to Skype aye.

Does this mean the few third party Apps that still rely on GTalk will die off now?

Does that mean no GTalk on Windows Phone any more? I hope Google plan to bring Hangouts across by then.
