GTX260 vs HD4870

What wattage PSU should he be getting for this baby?
None of the fancy jobs. Like a Gigabyte or something?

Depends on the brand. If it's a cheapo 600Watt. If it's a proper psu a 460 or 500 should be fine.

I'd actually suggest the Antec Neo He 550watt psu. It goes for R1200. If that's too much the coolermaster extreme 460Watt should be fine.

I own the GTX260 with the 216 stream processor things... I'm biased though :) I love this card and I like nVidia a lot soo... :3

Gigabyte?
I think this is PCZone's standard stock that why I'm asking.

I won't let him buy some no name that's gonna sound like an aeroplane

LOL Qwicksilver.
Not to be difficult, but I just wanna know, if I'm getting a Gigabyte PSU, what wattage should it be?

These PSU's are generally reasonably priced and are reliable.

Just thought it'd be easier since you're buying from take2 anyway. Be careful with gigabyte with their surperb psu. They are rated for peak not continuous. Eg the 470watt is only a 390 watt. The gigabyte odin GTs are nice though. But the 550watt is the same price as the Corsair anyway.

The 585watt superb should be fine IF it has a 8pin connector. The Corsair does.

It seems as though it uses two 6pin OR a 6pin and 8pin if you wanna overclock it.

Yeah. Thinking about it, my 4870x2 uses the 6pin and 8pin... You would think it uses a lot more, seeing as it is 2x 4870's.
