R7000

worth it for the casual gamer??

surely this card is only for the hardcore with eyefinity or something?? I mean are there any games that can actually bring this thing to its knees??

I'm pretty sure Witcher 2 at 2560x1600 with 16xAA+AF will make 100% use of it.

For a casual gamer, an HD6870 would probably suffice.

Well a gtx590 is definitely not for eyefinity :p

If you a casual gamer, I can see you spending R7k on your whole machine!

its got a Antec Darkfleet DF-85 case with blue ray writer and only thing that I couldnt upgrade was the MB got a Asus P8P67 Pro

Friend of mine got a bursary... but his rents paid the uni fees already, so he was paid R30 000 by the company... He then spent R27 000 of that on a new PC.
That's quite a lot, but I think I've actually spent more on mine if I include my screen & UPS.

Screen (~R7k): Dell 3008WFP (30" IPS)

PC (~R18k):
i7 940 + Thermaltake 120 Ultra Extreme
3x 2GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz
2x MSI GTX460 Cyclone 1GB OC
Corsair AX850
Asus P6T Deluxe v2
Asus Xonar DX
G.Skill Phoenix 120GB SSD
1.5TB SATA HDD
Coolermaster 690 II Advanced

UPS (~R3k): APC Smart-UPS 1000VA

IMO its OK to spend that much if you keep the PC for a few years, and not suffer from CUD (compulsive upgrade disorder) :D

If you guys think PC's are expensive, wait till you see how much carbon fibre mountainbikes OR golf clubs + member fees cost...

I just bought an Antec Kuhler 620 kit and an EVGA 570 SSC.
Can't wait for the day I collect them. Woohoo!!!

Now just to purchase a cpu, MB and a powersupply..
:)

I suffer a lil from CUD so you don't realize how much you spend.. but I'm on about 15k excluding screen, given it would be cheaper now..

Raven RV03... it's very tit.

I agree even the raven RV02 looks pretty darn sexy. If I knew that case was so good and almost the same price as my Cooler master sniper I would've bought that.

You spend 18k on that system...lol

I spend about R16k for a i5-2500k pc overclocked to 4.7GHz and that includes the mobo, CPU, Cooler, GPU, SSD and case (Cooler master Sniper) and also a 1.5TB HDD
