Think they are also trying to draw as many people as possible just before GW2 comes out.

They've had that free trial up for as long as I can remember. Still, good to promote it. More players are always a good thing.

Yeah I see your point, it is almost more expensive to just download the game than to buy it and play it.


So the moral of the story is, if you know someone with an updated copy, then just copy it over and register a trial account to test it out. If you don't know someone with a copy of the game, then just buy it.

Now lets hope that South African internet will be enough powerful to play GW2.

Game is really not expensive.

GW 2 will be less instances which worries me a bit... but seeing as people can play WoW I am sure GW2 will not be a problem

I want the specs for the game so I can upgrade my PC.

Theyre using the same engine with Dx10 support. So I reckon anything from a 9600gt up will be fine

What are the specs for running GW2?
GW2 will have higher requirements than GW but no requirements have been set. They plan to keep the requirements low so that owners of mainstream PCs will be able to play the game when it is released.

Can I play on dial-up?
We don't know.

Will I need Vista/Windows7 and DirectX 10 to play?
No, but DirectX 10 will be supported.

Unlikely, however, you can maybe try that they host an updated version of gw.dat on their servers, for those that are new to the game and wants to download the game through local.
