The point is to enjoy the quests and participate in Guild Battles and stuff like that (and type properly). It's real fun, trust me. If you want a game like you're describing play one of those badly translated Asian games like MU.

lol, whats the point of playing wow for example just the have the best gear, enchants and highest lvl - yawn.

GW. i personally enjoy allot more because of it not being materialistic driven, but more about skill selection and doing actual story involving quests with enemies that are not as static and same old same old as wow and related.

i've done the wow thing and summed it up as coke-pop-culture feeder being:
  • the need to gather
  • the need to level
  • the need for gear

apart from those about all quests falls into Get X of y or go kill X of y.

neverwinter nights also had a cap of 20 and then later on 40, but what made it great online was the ability to just go out and do some fun things with your char without needing to work your ass off as a secondary work in you life to have gold, items, levels and so on.

-if you want to be ZOMG go with wow and feed your materialistic needs and pride to be the top alpha dog.
...

on another note; wish AO was remade or something like that.

If you are a wizard,(i always play as a wizard) and you can get new spells without leveling up?then Gw is my game,Cuz Level 20 cap is only understandable for warrior and stealth type classes which are item based, but wizard are power based No? if they dont have a powerfull spells then you are dead...

GW Rules!!

I am in what could possibly be the biggest SA guild and alliance in gw- Raw amber ...we have a 9 guild alliance and over 80 members in ram alone. Our alliance is also mostly Sa guilds and we focus more on PvE although pvp is done now and then.Anyone interrested can contact me in game and we will gladly help out where we can.

Put me on your friends list and see you in game

the point is not to see who can spend the most time on line but to see who can out think and out play the others......

thats why GW has one of the best PvP systems atm :)

I can play for 5 hours a week but still be one of the top players in the world

in warcraft you have to grind to get to max lvl and then go item hunting for fing ever

GW is alot more about thinking and WoW is more about grinding.

Yup, you dont have to ever set a foot into PvE to get a max lvl char for PvP in GW!! :D

WoW is boooooring.... specialy when you get your ass wooped by every other lvl 70+ person running around :(

Or... you could create a account for PvP and one for PvE and use your PvE account to get hold of cool weaps, too bad elite armour is not avalible to PvP chars so easily :(

after unpacking yesterday i discovered a copy of guild wars factions a friend gave to me a while ago. (he gave it to me because he bought it, but doesn't have internet).
I remember playing the tutorial until looking at my connection status 200mb on mymeg500
After reading some posts here where people mentioned that it only uses about 5mb/h i'm willing to give it another go. also... i have a 1gb cap now

Question1
how big do you estimate an update after a clean install of factions?
a) 0-200mb
b) 200-500mb
c)500mb+

Question 2
Is 3g latency entirely useless?

Question 3
Do people still play factions?

ok, so i started playing (the first time i`m playing a mmorpg).

Should i play PVE until lvl20 before participating in whatever guilds are doing?
Where do i find a mybb guild?
Is everyone at the monestary dutch teens?

I`m the confused looking warrior with default armor standing at the monestary square on european english zone 1. "Jabbber Godhammer"

Try switching to the American district via the drop-down menu. Waaaay more English speaking people and it's generally busier despite the time of day.

I'd recommend you continue playing PvE before you participate in PvP as you're going to need a good feel for the game. In PvP the last thing on your mind needs to be how to do X, Y or Z - that part you need covered from the get go.

I don't play much anymore. I log on for the random alliance battle every now and then.

Sadly I think I've burnt myself out. I've played alot over these past 2+ years. I'm pretty much waiting for Warhammer/Aion/Stargate Worlds/Darkfall to see if one manages to hold my attention, and I'm hoping and praying Guild Wars 2 will be able to rekindle my Guild Wars love.
