If you guys have been looking for me and not finding me I apologise.

Haven't been spending a heck of a lot of time online lately - and I keep switching characters when I do go on ... :p

Wonder if someone could help me out please. I am pretty new to GW, started on Nightfall and now I am wondering how to get inland? I have done quite a lot of quests etc and I managed to unlock the Asura Gate, which takes me to Eye of the north correct? I have done quite a few quests there too, but I am keen to finish Nightfall first before doing EOTN. What quests do I need to do to get inland? What is confusing me is the quest list, there are so many quests, and different types etc it is annoying. Like I have Primary Istan quests, Primary quests, primary Asura quests, primary ebon vanguard quests, primary nom quests, far shiver peaks quests.... Like wtf? What to do? Where to go? Thanks ;)

Hi there guy,
Firstly, welcome, I hope you enjoy GW so far :)

Yes, the Asura Gate takes you to EotN, which is part of the Prophecies map.
If you are back in NF, then you need to follow the main storyline to get off the beginner (aka noob) island to go to the mainland. The main storyline missions are all under the Primary Quests heading.
If you do not do these missions you cannot progress in the storyline and further into the game.
All the other Primary Asura / Norn / Ebon Vanguard etc are all sub-plots of the main storyline in EotN.
None of the other chapters have these sort of headings and all start with the area, like Vabbi Quests, Istan quests, etc. none with the word Primary in them.

Stick with the Primary Quests and you will get to the mainland. However, there might be other missions in here from other chapters, like you have been to EotN, these are easy to spot though by just reading the mission plot and checking where the mission arrow points on your radar or opening up M.
It is also quite often that you have nothing under this heading due to finishing the mission before, landing in a mission outpost and then doing something else (going to the loo for instance or logging off, traveling, etc), without taking the next progression mission in the game. These can be annoying to find :) I hope it didn't happen to you.
Otherwise a few places to go and look for a NPC that might have a Primary mission for you is First Spear Dehvad in Kamadan, or one of the guys in the Sun Docks (in Kamadan) or Castelan Puuba in Sunspear Great Hall.
These are often the places people do not take the next mission immediately.

Otherwise, open M and check for a flashing shield beacon thingy on your map for the island. This will indicate you are ready to do that mission and you can start there. If the shield / beacon has a sword/s and a spear through it, this means the mission has been completed fully and you are further.

Good luck, hope it was detailed and informative enough to help you out.

Thanks dude! That really helps, I am now focusing on the Primary quests - I have been doing a lot of side quests and I guess thats why I have ran the entire island a few times, time to do some primary ones. Thanks again. ;)

Hey there, yes, that's how the mission instances work. If the whole party wipes, you have to start over. It's to make it more challenging for the player, and not to have it like a normal explorable map where you and your party can wipe over and over with 60% dp, possibly going on for hours.

This is not the only thing that can happen, if you don't meet a specific requirement for a mission, like escorting / protecting someone / defending something or making a time limit, you will also be kicked out to restart the mission again. There are other objectives as well that will earn you Bonus / Master rewards for a mission. These can be any of the above I already mentioned.

It is important to read the mission objectives at the start and follow it and check for any changes. Most importantly, don't die! :D
