Add me to friends and I will help you with the mission. The mission is really fast if you know how to do it, and believe me when I say I have done it alot ;)

IGN: Local is Lekker

Thanks for all the offers guys, managed to complete the quest successfully as well as many other primary quests. I am now in mainland! YAY off the noob island :D

Only thing I am not really clued up on is making armour and items. I collect materials but don’t seem to ever really be able to make anything. I either never see crafters or I never the right materials. I don’t seem to battling to much on the battle field so it is not worrying me to much. I also got given a nice axe by one of my guild members which helps. I guess I will just keep slogging on.

Hi Guys, I can't say that I am not enjoying this game because I really am, but there are a few things that are annoying me, and I just don't know what am I am doing wrong.

Weapons and Armour - for some reason I never pick up anything decent and I also can never buy stuff in town because it is just so dam expensive,I don’t think I will ever have that much gold and materials.

The stuff I have now I think is ok, I have used ruins to upgrade all my armour as well as my parties. I have a decent Axe which a guild member gave me.

Materials - I am forever picking sh*t up, but what the hell is it? What can you use it for? I mean I realise some items can be crafted or something, but I never see anyone that needs my items.
I have now got 5 bags and my entire chest filled with cr*p. And I just don't know what to do with it lol. There just seems like way to many materials and I just dont know what to do with them.

Areas & quests - I recently moved from the islands where Kamadan is, inland to where the sunspear sanctuary is etc. I have questing there for a week or so.
Then I travelled to Kamadan and get a message that if I want to open travel to Cantha and Kryta I must do certain quests - So cool I did them and thus opened travel there.
Now I am in Lions arch and also have another area availble to quest. I don’t mind this I just feel that I am jumping around the story and the game like a jack rabbit.
There doesnt really seem like any logical order to do things. Considering I don’t think I have really fisnished up inland by the Sunspear Sanctuary. How do you guys do it? Jus go with the flow? Do whatever?

Thanks for helping a noob out :D ;)

Weapons and Armour - Most weapons you pick up won't be worth much at all. If a weapon's name is written in white or blue, it's pretty safe to just sell it to the merchant. If a weapon's name is written in purple or gold, you'll want to purchase an Identification Kit from a merchant, double-click on it and then left-click on the weapon to identify its stats. Once you've done that, you'll in the majority of cases sell the purple weapon to the merchant and you are going to need to ask for help from a mate/your guild as to whether or not you should sell the gold weapons to a merchant or to a player, as the values of gold weapons have a huge range.

Materials - A lot of materials are junk that you can sell to the merchant. If you go to a Xunlai Storage Agent and open the last tab in the window that pops up, you'll see a list of crafting materials that you can store. Storing crafting materials usually comes in handy later during the game so I prefer to store all of mine. Just drag your crafting items into that window where they'll be stored for later use. The rest you can sell to a merchant if you wish, or you can find a collector and exchange the items for new items (though you'll usually need more than one of said item...for example 5 Dark Remains will get you a weapon from a collector).

Areas & quests - It would be wise to continue the Nightfall storyline. Just hit the "M" key, click on the icon that looks like a ship, choose Kamadan, Jewel of Istan from the window that pops up and hit Travel. That will take you back to Nightfall where you can continue with the storyline as you were before.

Thanks Lydon - I will stick with the nightfall storyline. However I seem to have hit a dead end. I cannot for the life of me find a quest to do. I have looked around at all the outposts and even spent an hour exploring new terrain, I unlocked the sulphur outpost and still no available quests. :(

Nvm, managed to find the problem. Seems it is common that people get stumped at this part of the game. ;)

Hehe awesome, what was the problem?

I had to chat to a dockwatcher in Kamada, that opens up new quests. ;)

I actually have a big mission I am trying to do, but keep failing, maybe some one wants to help me later? IGN sir grimspoon ;)

I've temporarily given up on my quest for survivor ... I lost another one last night due to network interruptions ... not simple lag, but a case of the network disappearing and going on holiday.

I've been in constant contact with Vodacom about the problem, as soon as its sorted I'll try again. I've created a new derv character and I'm keeping her ready (and doing some easy missions for the time being) - maybe she'll be able to make it.

If you have factions (IIRC) there is a fastish way to get there with a sin.

Google the survivors guide. else do what I did to get to rank 1, send in H&H ;) (flag them in the middle of the enemies while you hang far back :p)

That's what I usually do - but like I said - one simple disconnect can ruin all your efforts.

Lol, those who quest alone die alone (and a lot) :p:D But I agree playing from an SA connection sucks :(

Im sitting with 400-800 ping. The rest of the guys from the UK, US and Asia are getting pings 45-70 on avrg :(

I'm usually sitting with a ping of between 400 - 900 - which is relatively safe. And if I'm busy with my survivor I usually disconnect at the merest hint of lag.

Except, when the network drops me ... there's no warning. One minute its there, the next second its not. :(

I dont find the ping really effects me to much - I get like 300 odd, but game runs fine.

One thing I don't get though, and maybe someone can enlighten me, but why do you only level to 20? They should have made a higher level, like 60, that would really have been better I think.

Also can you tell me, if you want to create a new char, do you have to start the whole game again? For instance I am doing NF at the moment, if I want to play with say a monk, do I have to start all the quests from scratch and build him up?

Because GW is about using the skills not grinding for levels and unique gear.

Also yes you will have to do the missions again.

Fair enough, I also personally think that gridning levels and gear gets boring, I think what I was meaning to ask is how do you actually improve? I mean you dont level up past 20, so how do you get stronger other than trying to get better weapons.

Practice makes perfect :D

It's really a case of acquiring more skills and getting them together in a combination that works for you - or several combinations really, since a combo that works in one area will result in a pretty epic fail in another.

You improve by learning tactics and skills. Also max out your armor and gear and weapons and maybe buy a nice elite armor set or 2.

When you are ready you can try the Hard Mode and Elite mission areas, which is Underworld, Fissure of Woe and Domain of Anguish.

It will be best to finish the game though.

The idea is also to try your hand at PvP, since this is the best part and most hailed aspect of GW.
