Any chance that wargeeks.org domain will been hosted locally soon?
International is a bit slow :D

Might also fish for an invite, my Guild is never online.....

yip, our founder TG is busy with the server being migrated to another location as we have had connectivity issues... stay tuned for more on that. ;)

trying to post your application for voting... dang timeout errors... aarrghhh!

yikes... finally... most IE BACK attempts made within 1 minute flustered the forum... :D

Hi all

i want to start playing GW but before I do get to deep into it, i would like to know how much of my cap it will use. I have a 3gig cap - will i be able to play often without having to worry about my cap?

GW is far less of a hog than BF2 is - it's designed (apparently) to be useable by 56k (modem) players, so there's not huge amounts of bandwidth used -- unless you're downloading the entire 800mb that consists of factions

thanx for the info.

i was thinking of having a line installed primarily for those 2 games(bf2 & GW), but seeing as bf2 uses so much of ones cap. Maybe i should commit my life to GW and never play anuthing else again, ever

:D

When there are not updates involved, GuildWars use about 1MB per hour, which is very nice. Updates can unfortunately use a bit more, especially the recent one for the new chapter.

I've downloaded 2.6gb of Guildwars since installation till today and thats over 2.5weeks. ( Although I bought the game online and the whole game is streamed to you over the net)

This will affect your cap ( well if you play as much as I do lol ) and buy the game online and not the box.

Best option would be to play ALOT at the end of the month and limit early month playing to a few hours less that usual.

a quick question on equipment on your character seeing i was customizing some for the developing mesmer, you have stacking and non-stacking addons for all of the clothing elements. Now what does that exactly mean?

I noticed if i add various skill modifiers some stack and others dont. any tips on what patterns of modifiers should be used for best effect?

@gkm - got some mula back for you, thanks for the Guild Hall contributions. ;)

@Vexx007 - great to play with you even if they were short quests. Oh and welcome to the Guild. :)

Thanks, mula is always good. And welcome Vexx007.

Stacking, means that you can have more than one piece giving the benefit and they will add up. For example, if you have two armor pieces giving +2 energy each, that would then give you +4 energy.

Non-stacking means that they do not add. For example, if you apply a Rune of Superior Domination magic to two pieces of armor, the second one will be ignored and you will still get only +3 to domination magic.

The strategy I normally follows, is to buy the "helmet" that gives +1 in the attribute I want to concentrate on. Then I add a superior rune to that helmet, so that the helmet gives +4 in effect. I then only apply minor runes to other armor pieces for the other attributes, to keep the health penalty as low as possible and a vigor rune to give some health back. That way, if I want to focus on another attribute, I just switch helmets.

i did notice the bigger runes give a health drawback... just wasnt sure on what piece of armor to apply the best runes... i guess when i replace my armor at Lions Arch i will do it the right way. ;)

tks.

What an awesome short GW burst i had last night, only played for about 2hrs, but i got 2 dye drops and wait for it .......... my first GOLD DROP !!!!!
